PE CALANUS are a copepod zooplankton sustainably harvested in pristine arctic waters. PE CALANUS are instantly recognizable by their brilliant orange coloration stemming from the high levels of astaxanthin and other carotenoid pigments. PE CALANUS are naturally bio-encapsulated with essential fatty acids, resulting in a highly nutritious diet. They are frozen as whole specimens which means there is no loss of nutrition. PE CALANUS are great for freshwater and saltwater fish; in addition to being an excellent food source for corals and other filter feeding organisms.

Highly nutritious Calanus are a zooplankton that is highly desired by fish, invertebrates, and corals. They are great for target feeding corals as well as other filter feeding organisms with their small particle size the PE Calanus is easily digested and broken down into precious energy for the animal. The minimal particle size is attributed to the unique stage that the Calanus is at in their life cycle when they are sustainably harvested.

Feeding Suggestions:

Fish - It is recommended to feed no more food than what your fish can consume in a 1 minute period of time, multiple times a day. It is best to fully thaw the cube and broadcast throughout the water column. With smaller aquariums, the cube should be proportioned accordingly.

Coral - PE Calanus can be used for target feeding or broadcast feeding. Feed only as much as your corals will consume in a single feeding session. With smaller particle food it is best to feed very small amounts multiple times a day over a single large feeding. When feeding corals it is best to put a very small amount in the water column a few minutes before to activate the natural feeding response from corals, then target feed the corals with a pipette or similar tool.
